Tasty Mango Chutney Recipe

Mango chutney is a tangy and sweet condiment that pairs well with a variety of dishes.

Here's a simple recipe for mango chutney:

Ingredients:

- 2 large ripe mangoes, peeled, pitted, and diced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste

Instructions:

- In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the diced mangoes, chopped onion, white vinegar, brown sugar, raisins, minced garlic, grated ginger, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to combine.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook uncovered for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally. The chutney will thicken and the flavors will develop.
Once the chutney has thickened and the mangoes have softened, taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can use a blender or immersion blender to blend the chutney until desired consistency.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the mango chutney to cool completely. Transfer it to a sterilized jar or airtight container and refrigerate.
- The mango chutney is best when allowed to sit for at least a day to let the flavors meld together. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a few weeks.
- Mango chutney can be served as a condiment with curries, grilled meats, sandwiches, or as a dip for snacks.

Enjoy its vibrant flavors!
